The battle for the place in the finals heated and took Jokerit and Blues all the way to their 7th game. Jokerit had a chance to take the fourth win already in the fifth game. However, Blues was able to fight back making its way to the finals against Kärpät.

The fact that Kärpät will play in the final was known already after Sunday 30th March. After Blues won Jokerit in the 7th game, the pairs were ready for the finals.
By ensuring the place in the finals, Blues also ensured their first medal ever in their League history.

Tappara won bronze with a goal marked to Janne Ojanen in the beginning of the third period.

Other:
Forward Oskar Osala from Blues broke the rookie record of goals in one season's play-offs. The record was broken on Thursday's game when Osala made his 7th play-off goal. The previous record holder was Pekka Arbelius from Kärpät, which made 6 goals in season 1979-80.
Osala also shares the top spot of rookies' points made in one season play-offs. Osala's points from this season play-offs are 7+3=10, when Janne Ojanen from Tappara has 4+6=10 from season 1986-87.
The league and Phillips have selected Tappara's forward Jonas Enlund as the young player of the month for March. He was rewarded in the bronze game on Saturday.
